Comments Thread For: Saul Alvarez: Senchenko and Hatton are Still in Play

According to Golden Boy Promotions' CEO Richard Schaefer, Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (35-0-1, 26KOs) will return to the ring in March, perhaps in Los Angeles and potentially against WBA welterweight champ Vyacheslav Senchenko or Matthew Hatton, the younger brother of British superstar Ricky Hatton. HBO is going to televise Canelo's next fight.

Before the haters open their mouths i would just like them to ask themselves this question.

I wouldn't put it past hatton to win of they were ever to fight...but canelo would take it by UD or late stoppage

Wilfredo Benitez had titles in two weight classes at 20. Pipino Cuevas, who was one of my favorite fighters at the time, had made 4 welterweight title defenses by 20. Manny Pac won his first title, at flyweight at 20. Another one of my favorite fighters, Wilfredo Gomez, was also 20 when he won his first title.

But I'm not a hater. I dig Alvarez and hope he gets Senchenko because it's a good step-up fight and he should be able to win his first title, IMO by late KO. I think he KOs Hatton too

I disagree. Senchenko is not impressive to me. I think Alvarez would already beat him.
I dont think Senchenko's style would give Alvarez many problems either.

Either fight is probably a good fight at this present time.
