Pascal is a very smart fighter and this is the big break he's been waiting for. if we were surprised about the result of the Dawson fight this is going to get him the cover of not only Ring mag but im sure a lot more headlines across the states. i dont know why so many are sold on B-Hop when he hasnt face a guy like this in a long time. a very long time. father time will show.Comment

Very smart fighter? I dunno about that. Courageous, yes. Tough and determined, yes.
However, I don't see his style as being "smart" in any way. Hopkins is a bad matchup for Pascal imo and if Pascal does win it will be because of Hopkins inactivity and the biased judging he is sure to benefit from.
Pascal likes to rush in without a jab, and he throws looping punches more often than straight. Hopkins is a master of timing right hand counters on guys who are overeager to get inside and he should be able to land some crisp shots on Pascal unless Pascal works his way inside instead of jumping in.Comment

not very smart? did you not watch the Dawson fight? he almost got caught up in the later rounds but he followed his gameplan and did what he had to do to beat him. they could have fought anywhere and he would have won. if he wasnt smart he would of got thrown off his gameplan. most are banking on the idea that Hopkins will throw him off course and force him into a fight he doesnt want, one that he may not be able to win, but im not putting my money on that idea. Pascal most likely has seen what works, and will apply it all night. theres enough tape out there on Hopkins to put together a gameplan, and this guy can stick to it as he has proven he can already. that is a smart fighter. see you after this fight is over.Comment

He didn't look very smart against Carl Froch getting lured into a brawl and being soundly beaten.
Like I said, it goes to the cards Pascal probably wins no matter what.
We're talking about Canadian judges here, some of the worst in the entire world.
Take for example Jack Woodburn who scored the final round of Pascal-Dawson for Pascal even though he was getting beaten around the ring from pillar to post and throwing nothing in return.
Apparently in Canada, a headbutt from the home fighter is worth as much as 30 scoring blows by the traveling fighter.Comment

I actually think it's bad everywhere. One of the worst robberies I've seen lately was the "loss" Andriy Kotelnik got in St. Louis against Devon Alexander after he dominated the fight in every way.He didn't look very smart against Carl Froch getting lured into a brawl and being soundly beaten.

Leaving it up to the judges is the worst thing a boxer can do these days.Comment
