I know I'm gonna be right again when I call the Hopkins upset via uppercut. Notice in the video how he was working that right uppercut, just as Dawson caught Pascal with a left uppercut and had him out on his feet. I can see it now he is gonna bait Pascal into charging him and then he will spring into action with a right uppercut and stun him. You heard it here first....

I agree. It's very possible his will be the greatest of his this era and yes, that includes Pac. Hopkins is both underrated and overrated at the same time. His resume overall is underrated and his whole career is underrated but his MW reign is a little overrated by many.

Either way, when you really look at what he's done and if he wins this fight and regains the LHW lineal title at 45, there isn't anyone in the sport today that has a greater resume and career. People talk about his wins over Tito, Oscar, Tarver, Pavlik, Wright but forget about some top wins over some great champs like Holmes, Joppy etc. If we talk about Pac's resume and say a guy like Ledwaba is a big win, then a Joppy and Holmes win is great in comparison.

I really don't know about this fight though. I think Pascal will be more trouble than many make him out to be. He's very quick, scrappy and quite unorthodox. It's very possible that Hopkins just has too much experience for him and too many little tricks up his sleeve but it's also possible that Hopkins time has finally come and that he will be out-sped, out-fought, and simply out-youthed.

I think Hopkins though is the greatest 40+ fighter ever either way. Moore is certainly up there as is Walcott but Hopkins is still at the very, very top as those guys were but unlike those guys, he really hasn't been convincingly beaten after 40 so far. Maybe Pascal will change that, maybe he won't. Fascinating fight.

nice post. I agree with most of what you said but in looking at Hopkins training he really looks to have put in the hard work to deal with this kid. truly a fascinating fight.

I have to admit, as a big Hopkins hater.....if he wins this fight in a dominating fashion and none of that sissy "he hurt me" bull****, I'll be really impressed.

I've always dogged him for having most of his big fights being against smaller guys. This one is against the #1 guy in the division who rightfully earned it even he's a lot shorter it seems.

cant see it happening but if it does....he deserves to go back to top of p4p...pac is 32 and padding out the 'twilight' of his career fighting bums ....mayweather is hiding from the ring preferring to punch women and members of the general public, hopkins is 46 and fighting class leading fighters....
