If Mayweather fought for his 6th division win (For Arguements Sake)

If Sergio Martinez vacates WBC middleweight belt hypothetically and then Richard Shaefer announces Floyd Mayweather will fight for the vacant belt against James "Lights Out" Kirklund (Golden Boy fighter) at a catchweight of 156

Would you give him credit for winning a middleweight title?

Even though it is at a catchweight for a vacant belt with 2 unranked middleweights???

Mayweather beats up small children, so the less said about this monster, the better

If on fight night, Kirkland out weighs Mayweather by close to 20 pounds, of course I'd give Floyd credit because if this is the case, the catch weight would no longer be a real issue. In fact, it would be a fake catch weight since it really wouldn't be a catch weight.

But if Mayweather shows up higher than the agreed upon weigh in weight as he did when he cheated the light weight Marquez, and then proceed to outweigh his opponent by close to twenty pounds on fight night as he did when he cheated Marquez then I wouldn't give him credit.

Anyone who beats a tough opponent close to 20 pounds bigger on fight night in a so-called "catch weight" deserves credit and so would Floyd if only he had the guts and courage and balls to do so which he doesn't.

Floyd would get credit if he ends his extended vacation and actually fights.

May Vs Kirkland @ 156 is not the same as Pacquiao Vs Margarito @ 150...

First of all, that is a pretty far out dream match. Floyd isn't even coming out to fight at his own weight class, how much more that?

Nonetheless, if he does go out and actually wins it, then he gets props for it. He should watch out though since he'd have haters attack him and insist on him defending his title against an even BIGGER opponent and accuse him of ducking if he refuses to do so.

It would be legit and I'd respect it a bit.

But there would have been no eliminator, the org's don't have him as next in line AFAIK, and the in ring weight wouldn't be as wide as for Manny & Marg, or Manny and Martinez.

                So not as impressive.

If your trying to compare this to Pac/Marg try again. It would have to be Mayweather fighting for the light heavyweight title vs a former super middle weight champion. Light heavyweight because if mayweather won the middle/super middle weight titles, light heavyweight would be his 8th.

                    well

Well a equal fight would be Floyd vs Pavlik at Super Middle weight. That seems about right.
