How much better can he become as an overall boxer? Can he still add to his skillset?

I feel that he's more of a thinking boxer than some give him credit for. He trial-and-errored his way to almost winning that fight against Khan. He figured out exactly what kind of pressure and punch Khan was least comfortable with, and changed his gameplan accordingly.

I feel that Khan met him at the right time. This guy could become better at the boxing side of things, and then he'll give hell to whomever has the misfortune of fighting him.

Maidana is better than what he is given credit for, he has some decent subtle moves, and his jab is underrated, but he didn't figure khan out, that is a silly analysis. He landed a hail mary swing which he had missed many times he had started resorting to wild swings rather than trying to set up his attack, the sign of a demoralised man he was tired and very slow off his stool at the start of the 10th. A lack of concentration from khan a defensive lapse moving away with his hands down which turned the fight on its head. There was always that danger because maidana has the equaliser, and to his credit kept throwing his bombs. Hurting khan gave him a second wind, it was just a classic fight.
