Maidana is still a top threat in the division.

I'd say he's the Roberto Duran of the current crop. No doubt about it. From a poor background he has made it onto the world stage.

If boxing promoters have any idea of what people like to see they should jump on this guy and guarantee him big fights.

Bradley, Alexander, Khan, Mabusa/Judah...ALL of them should face him over the next two years.

The man deserves title shots and he should look at moving up with these guys too.

Maidana is the most dangerous fight for anybody at 140.

IMO he is far more dangerous than both Bradley and Alexander.

I agree with you, after the fight Saturday I was thinking to myself that Roach should try to recruit him to work with him. Maidana has all the makings to be great.

He is exciting and brings you everything you want to see in a prize fight.

That sounds like a pretty interesting idea. Although I think it's almost near impossible for him to unlearn a lot of that brawling **** he's been doing for most of his career.

LOL Roach can't coach everybody and whose corner would he be in when the two face each other?

He needs someone like the Kronk.

The whole "brawler" thing gets blown out of proportion. They've been trying to sell Maidana as this one dimensional bar room brawler and I do not see that with my eyes.

His corner gave him no tips but by the 4th he had adapted to Khan's technique and became more accomplished.

Now I wonder if thats why Khan switched styles so often.

                Was like high speed chess.

I used to watch some of his fights on TyC Sports (Argentine sports channel) when he was still fighting in Argentina. He never really "boxed" his opponents, he just went out and KTFO most of those guys in just a few rounds. Unfortunately for him, he's been trained to depend on his punching power and they have neglected to teach him to box. I know he isn't as one dimensional as people make him out to be, he has potential to be more than what he is now, but he needs a new trainer to help him out with the other aspects of his game.

he is a throw back a tough fighter I give you that but the guy only has a punchers chance against any of the top 5 JrWW that is it
It's not that they forgot he was outclassed for 9 rounds, it that they remember that despite being outclassed and taking a brutal beating for 9 rounds, he still managed to steal the show in the last 3. That's pretty darn good for a guy with no boxing skill.
