No right or wrong answer, completely depends on the styles of the boxers at hands, attributes, chins, round, time in the round, whether your behind or ahead, all sorts.
If you get caught and hurt by a massive shot, what should you do?

NEITHER...YOU CLINCH!!! You stay inside and not give him any room to windup and swing...yeah I know Mayweather is HATED on this Forum but what he did against Mosley in the 2nd Round is what you should do when you get hurt
Clinch and Stay Inside, but if you are fighting and slower and flat footed guy then yeah Running is the best move I guessComment

I hope Jermain Taylor was watching that fight. That's how you survive an onslaught coming on. You hold, run, do whatever you can.
But he didn't have half the stamina that Khan did.Comment

whatever it takes to get you recovered--if you have to hold, do it---if your strength is fighting back and offsetting your opponent by trading with him or her, do it---me personally, i would hold and cover up and stay inside--taking away my opponent's distance to land big on me again-clinching is smart imo--don't be too brave for your own good--when i got a little stunned---i recovered fast that way----Comment

Fake a slip(andre dirrell style) knowing maidana would hit you on the floor. Thus winning by a DQ
Then if a rematch is wanted, just say you have career threatening neurogical disease, without knowing the doctors name. That should do the trick!

Ur best bet is to keep ur hands up and get as close as possible to tie them up or muffle their punches so they can't get everything on their punches. Running sets u up for ur legs not being good and u fall from sheer clumsiness or getting caught on the end of someones punch ala Hearns.Comment
