Khan 2011 Schedule: Dreaming of Promoting

Number one on my list would be to chase the IBF belt that Alexander dropped chasing Timothy Bradley. That would involve paying step aside money to Zab Judah (who really doesn't stand a chance) to face the IBF number one, South African, Kaiser Mabuza. That could be fixed in the UK easily

Marcos Maidana deserves a rematch some day and next year would be a good time to do it.

The Prescott rematch would be good to sharpen the skills in preparation for Timothy Bradley. I'd put that in second place as it would be best on sales. Revenge sells well.

After that theres Juan Manuel Marquez cos it was the JMM fight that was on before the Maidana fight was fixed. Would be an interesting fight and would get great HBO coverage even if in the UK.

Below THAT on my list theres the possibility of a Zab Judah fight. Famous for pushing Floyd Mayweather to the limit but good old Zab didn't look too sharp in his last fight but is ranked number two by the IBF. I am a fan of this smart southpaw but he's slowed tremendously. He would be a good warm up if Khan was fighting Devon Alexander.

Last I'd put Victor Ortiz as he isn't a big name here and quit versus Maidana last year but he's WBA rated and thats Khan's belt.

If I was manager I would run the next year like this:

    March:
Prescott at Bolton R:eebok (or in preference Mabusa if it can be negotiated)

    June:
If the Bradley/Alexander winner is available have that in Madison Square Garden.
If not fight Judah/Mabusa winner or loser (most likely Mabusa wins) at Old Trafford for the IBF deal.

    October:
If Bradley/Alexander winner is available then Madison Square Garden. (more likely)
If not then Victor Ortiz at the Garden or Maidana at Wembley. (He is WBA ranked still)

    December
Bradley/Alexander winner (if they have not been fought) in Madison Square Garden
If Bradley/Alexander winner has been fought then Zab Judah (if we could not get the June fight sorted as we were busy fixing Brad/Alexander) to deal with the IBF ranking (probably in Vegas).
If not Bradley/Alexander winner and Judah has been fought then the Maidana rematch at O2 or Wembley.

If I was promoting amir khan...

I would have him fight marquez in the April fight in the UK, would be huge! A fight that would be competitive but khan would look great in...would be a great spectacle, and a guaranteed huge crowd. Sky ppv and hbo would also televise it.

Then the unification against bradley-alexander winner probably at the end of July back in the US, probably los angeles would be the best venue if it is bradley which I expect it will be.

Then a welterweight debut against a belt holder at the end of the year back in vegas.

I think settle disputes and get them out of the way first.

So rematch Salita and Prescott. Then the winner or winners face off against each other, Alexander/Bradley. After establishing themselves as the 140 champion then think about moving to 147.

He will be fighting 3 times a year at most. In 2011, Ramandan will happen in August so in 2011, he will be fighting in April, July, and December.

              April July and December?

              Mabuza, Ortiz and Bradley then.

(Ortiz satisfies both WBA and IBF authorities in one single blow)
