i think any one on the top level would destroy him easy.
smith needed to jab double jab and follow up with the big rights to head,with hard body shots also,he new what he should have done but wasnt smart/skilled enough to have the mind to implement it,which was disapointing.
DeGale wasn't just slightly better, he was punch perfect. Great defense, great timing, great speed, great accuracy, great tactics. He fought the perfect fight and Smith looked very amateur and predictable in comparison. The smart thing to do would be for Smith to watch the tape again and admit he was totally out classed in every department.
The only thing I agree with is that the ref should have let Smith actually get knocked out because that was the only possible outcome from R9 onwards. I think DeGale had 2 or 3 more gears he could have shown and a wobbling, almost static target would have allowed him to tee off and look even better.
