I think hopkins was the one that used the race thing against Cortez.

Hopkins nearly pulled out of the Robert Allen fight (which was to set up the Oscar de la hoya fight) because of Cortez:

Hopkins also protested Cortez being the ref against Calzaghe and there was another incident as well.

I think it's because Hopkins said he thought Cotez was a fan of Trinidad or something like that, I dont' remember exactly.
