Khan vs Maidana... Why were they wearing Everlast?

Don't know much about Reebok, which it was reported that Khan would be wearing for this fight, but, if Maidaina (the puncher) would have been wearing his preferred Reyes gloves, would Khan have been KO'd?

Khan couldn't wear his 9.5 ounch gloves in the fight only 8's.

I bet Maidana regretted that when he was flailing about on the floor in the 1st.

Maidana prefers Reyes gloves huh? Then how come Maidana has always wore Everlast... vs Ortiz, vs Cayo? Think before you type.

Reebok sent Khan the wrong sized gloves or something.

Maidana was wearing Everlast MX gloves, which are a punchers glove. They are crafted to compete with Reyes pro fight gloves. Made with a flat striking surface, and a combination of horse hair and foam.

From a fight news article on Cotto choosing Everlast MX for his fight with Yuri Foreman:

            http://www.*********.com/Boxing/cott...everlast-48540

The Everlast MX Fight Glove, is one of three professional fight gloves offered by Everlast. Hand crafted in Mexico, the MX fight glove offers a customized fit through a hybrid foam-horsehair technology designed for power punchers such as Cotto.

            From a Forbes article:

            http://www.forbes.com/2009/11/09/eve...-everlast.html

The company is trying to revive the brand. For the first time, Everlast is expanding past its standard boxing glove, introducing a version of the Reyes, a puncher's knockout glove it's calling the MX Fight Glove, handcrafted in Mexico with a hybrid interior of horsehair and foam. Also new: The Protex, a model heavy on wrist stabilization that's designed to appeal to precision fighters.
