    Dear Joan Guzman,

    Dear Joan Guzman,

This message is from me (a used-to-be fan of yours) to you (a used-to-be serious boxer). I am here on behalf of a lot of Dominicans or maybe just Dominicans who are boxing fans to ask you to please just walk away from the sport and STOP EMBARASSING US! I mean you give interviews and you can straight up lie about how you're weight is not a problem and that you have been in the gym for the last 3 months working hard. What the hell is wrong with you man???? Do you really think you are going to get a chance by one of the biggest networks like HBO or Showtime??? I really just don't understand you man!!!! No one takes you seriously anymore. And the honest truth is that I think the reason you no longer find anyone interested in fighting you is because they are afraid you won't make weight and in turn loose a pay day! Grow the **** up Guzman! It's just a damn shame that a person with your talent can behave the way you do. You are becoming the joke of boxing and it bothers me because you come where I come from!

So, with the little respect that you might have left just walk away with a little dignity if that's possible at this point. I don't have anything personal against you but to think that after so many times of you not making weight you have the audacity to not make weight for your last fight is just ridiculous. I even heard that they checked in with your camp when they found Davis as your apponent to see the weight was fine and of course you lied and said yes when you probably knew you couldn't make weight. I just don't get it but one thing I do get and that is that you are truly embarassing a lot of us and were pretty tired of it. I can't see how any of the little fans that you have left can actually defend you at this point. I just can't and if they do then they are just as blind as you are.

Again, please find some other way to make money and walk away unless you are going to really get serious because so far we have seen the light and you are NOT serious! Man-Up Guzman and stop being boxings big time, no weight making JOKE!

P.S And if I was your trainer I would have walked away as this point. Why waste time on someone who won't respect the time you put into their career...I'm surprised your trainer is still around.

Joan Guzmans ability speaks for it self. The weight issuse isn't a big deal, he is far from an embrassment.

I think he can box as long as its not a big fight where people can lose big money if the fight gets canceled.

but yeah WTF??! Guzman is an embarrassment.

Weights for fights are just a "suggestion" for Guzman.

The weight issue is not a big deal??? Are you serious or joking? So, I can be a welterweight fighter and show up weighing 175lbs the day before the fight? I mean I know I am exaggerating a bit there but how can you say that the weight issue is not a big deal??? You don't think that if he would have shown up at 135lbs for the Funeka fight and won that championship that he would have been better off and probably fighting someone at the elite level on tv??? C'on man! Be serious!

              Dear Joan Guzman,

Please do not believe that you won by KO against your opponent last saturday night. You have your opponent in your corner but he wasn't hurt enough to getting knockout. Your opponents corner threw in the towel. Golden Boy just fixed this fight so you can be more marketable. You are no longer "Little Tyson" cuz you lost your punching power since moving up.

guzman wreaked havoc across 6 different weight divisions. his all time great status is set in stone. he should retire and join his comrades sven ottke and joe calzaghe as the greatest fighters of this era.
