4 months ago i booked a hoter/airline, wasn't expect to watch any boxing event at all. Then they made the Khan-Maidana fight, how lucky i am.
Bought the ticket last friday for 100 bucks, at section 217 row B seat 3. Then an attendant told us that we in the section could move to section 125 and seat anywhere. Walking to the new section, saw Devon Alexander and took a pic with him and i did not know it at the time, it was his manager who took it, nice guy. Got to see Nonito Donaire also but did not get a chance for pics.
There was a fight already in progress when i arrived, forgot the name but it sounds like Sharif and he won by decision. Then a heavyweight fight between a former college football player and former NABO champion. The football player won and remained undeafeated. Funny ending on that one, the loser got hit and reacted late on it. The loser was getting hit a lot on the body and just got tired.
Joan Guzman fougth before the Ortiz fight. Guzman was landing accurate punches. He got his opponent cornered on the ropes and throwing a lot of punches, then the opponents corner threw in the towel. Just from observation, the opponent is getting hit but seems far from getting KO. With that, Guzman still doesn't have the puncing power to KO opponents since moving up in weights.
Ortiz-Peterson was a good fight. From the first 5 rounds, P 4 months ago i booked a hoter/airline, wasn't expect to watch any boxing event at all. Then they made the Khan-Maidana fight, how lucky i am.

The Ortiz-Peterson was a good fight. From the first 5 rounds, Ortiz clearl won 3 rounds and the other 2 could have gone either way. From 6-10 rounds, Peterson won 5 rounds or just won 4 and 1 round that could have gone either way. From the 5th round, Peteson seems to be more effective with the jab and landing more clean shots. Ortiz was effective during the first half cuz he was being more aggressive but after that, it his attack deacrease. I can understand the fight being a draw.
Khan-Maidanda fight was just bumping when they entered the ring. Lots of Khan fans, from straight out Pakistani to Brits and to just average American fan. Maidana is a warrior, from getting down from a liver shot to getting tired, he still finished the fight. Khan was impressive with his speed and skills but seems to lost punching power. I don't know Khan's history with his gloves but it seems that his been using bigger/more padded gloves since he got KTFO by Presscot. Bigger gloves to protect his chin, reminds me of Winky Wright.
One funny thing about Khan's Pakistani fans, some of then are carrying the flag of Pakistan and their face are painted in the design of the flag. They look more like Hezbollah ********* than boxing fans. Don't mean to offend anyone with this.
Want to watch boxing events again in Vegas but its hard in my job to get the weekend off.
