Being a Hopkins fan I can use this same argument.

If not for Cortez, Hopkins would have beat Calzaghe.

Hopkins inside game is about 1000X times better than Calzaghe and everytime Hopkins got inside Cortez came in and broke it up, thus not allowing hopkins to do work on the inside. He heavily favored Calzaghe who can't fight for **** on the inside and is best on the outside. Cortez was paid off.

I don't get it, why would you guys pick seeing the guys tied up over boxing? The ref broke them us as soon as they tied up. Very rarely does a fighter do damage to the other when he has a free hand, so I don't see how Maidana would have won that way. What I do see are sore Maidana fans and Khan haters reaching for any excuse they can find. Khan won this fight all the way. Deal with it like a man.

But you were a man about it and didn't cry, right? I'm sure you will agree the refs having different styles is all a part of boxing. There's just some things we can't complain about and this is one of them. Its like saying JMM would have lost by the 3 knock down rule in his first fight against Pac, had it been in another state. Can't cry about that. BTW, I'm not preaching to you, just venting. lol

Cortez is a biased ref, that unfairly DQ Soto for Francisco Lorenzo's fake act.

Cortez was unfair against Juan Manuel Marquez for not taking a point away from Pac, after Pac punched JMM , after JMM was already down from the 3rd knockdown in the 1st round of their 1st fight.

Cortez was unfair when he allowed Kevin McBride push and tie up Tyson for most of their fight, without ever warning McBride for dirty fighting.

            Cortez in an UNFAIR ref.
            Thats a FACT.

10th round. Maidana was about to put Khan out twice. Khan turned his back and Maidana was about to clock him. Cortez steps in pries Maidana off and lets Khan reset. Did this twice. in that round alone.

Khan got battered to the point he turned his back on Maidana. He was no longer defending himself. At no point should the ref step in to turn him around let him guard himself.

When have you ever seen a ref let a fighter hit an opponent with his back turned?

A youtube clip or just the fighters involved will do.

If the roles were reversed and Maidana was getting pounded like that I guarantee Cortez would've stopped the fight.
