Hagler beat Mercer in the UK. It was pretty racial at the time. I became a Hagler fan that night and started seeing what I didn't like about patriotism.Comment

Been a fan since I was like 4. My dad used to take me to fight gatherings, and my family always throws fights parties. Plus JCC was IT when I was that age till about 9 yrs old. My whole family is real big on boxing. I have a collection, of the ring mag since I was 8, every month. I am 24 now.
My living room to my house is decorated with fight posters, beer posters, American Flag, Mexican flag, and other guy stuff I guess. I just put speed bag over the pisser in the guest restroom. Lol everyone likes it.Comment

1990s. The first boxing match I ever saw was De La Hoya vs. Whitaker back in 1997. I used to be just a De La Hoya fan. Then I remember watching Kevin Kelley vs. Prince Naseem with my grandma and uncle and that's when I truly became a boxing fan. I had no idea who these guys were and as a kid they blew my mind away. After that fight that's when I started following Prince Naseem and Oscar. It wasn't until the year 2000 when I truly knew most of the boxers and started watching/following them. It really helps when you have family members who've been following the sport for years.Last edited by Las Vegas,; 12-12-2010, 11:20 PM.Comment

I was a casual fan starting in about 1977
I didn't have my first fight at 132lbs until 1983. I was 27 years old. I lost a one point split decision on a club show at the Shamrock gym on Hastings at Main in the downtown east side of Vancouver. 3 x 2 minute rounds.Comment
