HBO better not pay for Martinez-Lee/Zbik

With the exception of Berto's crap fight, their schedule hasn't been too bad. The last two HBO cards have produced FOTY candidates and their matchups in 2011 (Bradley-Alexander/Montiel Donaire) have been solid.

Based off the solid match making, it'd be such a waste of money for HBO to pay for Martinez vs. Zbik or Lee. HBO said they wouldn't pay for anymore crap fights for Berto and it should be the same standard for Martinez. Honestly who wants to see Martinez vs. an automatic win?

I'd rather Martinez fight one of these guys:

-Dimitri Pirog (I know he's not a draw, but it makes sense. A good unification fight and I'd much rather see this then him fight lee. Also maybe the WBC would strip him, but Martinez still has the ring title so who cares about the WBC)

-Felix Sturm (I doubt Sturm ever steps up, but this is probably the best fight out there for Martinez in the middleweight division)

-Miguel Cotto (It makes no sense for Cotto-Margarito II to happen first. Even if Cotto loses, he'll still be a draw and have his 154 title. Margarito Cotto II is always a fight that has appeal and Cotto should fight Martinez first. Also it should be on regular HBO, that fight on PPV would be terrible)

-Alfredo Angulo (This might be the most realistic. They were close to this fight before when Angulo priced himself out. Angulo is a bit of a draw because the HBO audience is familiar with him. It's pretty much do or die for Angulo because HBO is pissed with him. Angulo also has problems making 154 and so him going up to 160 or even a catchweight of 157 would be fine)

Also since I'm on the topic of HBO, this is the schedule I prefer to see for them:

    January 29: Bradley Alexander
February 19: Montiel-Donaire/Soto Karass Jones II
February 26: Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye
March 5: Juan Manuel Marquez vs Robert Guerrero*/Saul Alvarez vs Matthew Hatton
March 12: Sergio Martinez vs Alfredo Angulo/Sergei Dzinziruk vs Kermit Cintron

    * = Will probably be Erik Morales. I'd prefer to see him fight Guerrero though

I wouldn't mind the Andy Lee fight.

Hes a tall talented guy with good power.

Hes a stylistic nightmare for most.

    Make it happen.

He has a good uppercut and jab, but he's open for the straight punch down the middle. Martinez would punish him.

Ross Greenburg won't allow the best white boxers on HBO anymore.

However, white boxers Greenburg expects to lose, are permitted as opponents on HBO (Jason Litzau, Harry Joe Yorgey) and paid very little money compared to the others.

So because Zbik and Lee are mediocre, they may be permitted to fight Martinez on HBO. Of course they'll make sure there are crooked judges to rob them just in case, as in the Kotelnik fight.

Greenburg wants the public to believe white men can't fight. Dmitry Pirog (who is no longer underrated) and Gennady Golovkin are very good fighters and so definitely will NOT be permitted on HBO.

They've promised a date for Dzinziruk in the first quarter of 2011.

Oh of course. Thank you for that information.

What is sad is that this guy is serious.

Right, after keeping him inactive for another year. He's getting old and all the inactivity has likely ruined him by now.

Why on Earth would they do that? Unless they are feeding this guy to Kirkland I don't think the American public cares to see it.

What HBO should do is make one of their fighters that they have signed man up and fight Dzinziruk...

Is ridiculous that these dumbasses refuse Williams-Dzinziruk when it was discussed...Now Vanes neither Cintron are HBO however they should let one of those fools fight him...Hell even put a come backing Kirkland in their too I agree. It will be fair since both will be coming off a long layoff.
