Bodypunching, biggest weapon in boxing?

Bodypunching has it's place, but it is quite overrated. How often do you see bodypunch knockouts compared to knockouts to the head?
Yes, it is obviously a good way to make another fighter both gas and lower his hands, but bodypunching also leaves you out there with your chin standing out as tall as the lincoln monument. So, while it will work against an inferior opponent(both sizewise and quality-wise) it will more likely then not leave you in trouble against an opponent of comparable strength.
As such you can compare bodypunching to the icing on the cake of boxing, a good component, but it is not a "bread and butter" of the sport.Comment

BTW, a little known fact but liver is actually the toughest soft-tissue part organ in the human body. Fighters become more susceptible to being hurt from the liver shot if they have a chronic history of alcoholism.Comment
