Something shady always seems to go down with there fights, and they always employ Joe Cortez in there fights even though he is a horrible ref which he has shown in Maidana/Khan, Calzaghe/Hopkins, Hatton/Mayweather and many other fights.

Shady? It's called bribes. GBP pays off Cortez and the judges.

Do they 'employ' Cortez...or is Cortez assigned by the Commission?

      Thanks.

Golden Boy puts together fights of the year, while Top Rank puts together mismatches of the year.

Yeah, because we know that Golden Girl Promotions doesn't have any connections to get a dirtbag like Cortez hired as the ref. /Sarcasm

GBP has some wack fights but they had some great fights this year.

                Floyd Shane
                Jmm kats
                Ortiz Peterson
                Kahn maidana

Would you have GBP fight mis matches like top rank.

Nope. They put together the best matches, if sometimes by accident (Ortiz/Maidana). The alleged bribing of the refs and judges (which isn't fact just yet) hasn't hurt boxing as bad as putting a Joshua Clottey and Antonio Margarito up against Manny Pacquiao.
