Worse ref: Cortez or the guy from Vic/Mares?

I can't remember that guys name from the Vic/Mares fight but it was one of the worst reffing jobs in recent memory.

How can you give a guy a warning, then take a point for low blows, then give 100 more warnings after that deduction and never take another point?

Then blame Vic for everything when Mares was the one initiating all the filth.

Mares should've been deduced 2 or 3 points and disqualified.

And then to make matters worse, they rob Vic on the cards.

Then you have Khortez, who saved Khan at every opportunity when Khan needed a break and deducted probably the worst point I've ever seen in my life, for no reason and with no prior warnings.

Given the high stakes of the fight and Khortez's profile, I"m gonna go with Khortez.

But in all honesty, neither guy should ever work a fight again.

Even if that was true, which it isn't because Vic gave him a painful boxing lesson, Mares should've been deducted at least 2 more points for all the repeated low blows.

Which would've given Vic the decision.

I personally think he should've been dq'd. Any competent ref would've done it.

Vic clearly lost and is nothing at 118. Not that he was ever that good.

I would have loved to have seen Donaire nearly kill him again.

How does Joe Cortez have a job as a ref if boxers don't want him to be the ref because it's known he takes bribes to protect certain fighters?

You clearly need glasses. Vic gave him a boxing lesson and got jobbed by a rookie ref.

            Donaire kills anyone at 118, 122, 126 and 130.

Got anything else I can use Captain Obvious?

Cortez is worse because he's taken bribes from GBP and Oscar on numerous occassions.

The d1ckhead from the Vic/Mares fights-- who knows. Maybe he's just incompetent.

If you can't see that Vic got beat than there's just nothing to say. It was clear as day, and not even debatable. The fact that it was an SD is a joke.

After another clear loss hopefully this is the end of Vic.

The ref did suck, though the result was inevitable.

If you call landing 3 straight lefts per round that have little effect on your opponent and getting outworked for most of the fight while running and holding in all of the championship rounds........then sure he gave Mares a boxing lesson in the possibly 4 rounds he could have won.

I'm not doubting this for a second, but is there anything on record that shows it?

Boxing needs to lose this guy as a "big time" ref.

He always cheats one fighter and he's such a megalomaniac that he always wants to inject himself as the center of attention.

Steve Smoger would've let Khan get ktfo last night. In fact, Steve Smoger needs to be cloned and be used as a default ref in every fight from here on out.
