Did Khan try the rope a dope?

I think Khan laid on the ropes and repeatedly took those upper cuts in hopes that Maidana would punch himself out. That wasn't smart at all. Anyway, great fight and big ups to both guys!

I think there was a bit of that but also he wanted to lay to bury all the glass jaw chat.

    And he did that.

      no he didn't. AT ALL.

you don't bury a "weak chin" reputation by getting badly hurt and stumbling and running through four rounds.

Just like JuanMa did vs Mtagwa.

Con REINFORCED that his chin is wack.

His chin was whack, but after them bombs Maidana gave him, I disagree, he has better than average chin but not excellent.

Against a 90% KO puncher when you've been KOed by a guy with a piissy 60% record just two years ago?

I think you kinda deal with it.

He was copying his stable mate Manny a bit, in that he wanted to get enjoy showing off his toughness and prove he could take it. It was also a little to try and discourage Maidana, but Khan went too far at times and made it more competitive then it needed to be.

Some of the shots he took, from the divisions hardest puncher would have KD or KO'd some guys, so just based on seeing Khan take them, you can't say in that fight his chin wasn't good. His chin and everyone was surprised to see, was better than average, without doubt. You don't take shots like that with anything less, just how it is.

I agree anyone else hit with them shots would have crumpled the way Victor Ortiz did. Khan should have pressed the attack after the 2nd round when Maidana's body was still tender from the bodyshot. Maidana looked like he was ready to cry lol lol...
