Now I am far from being a fan, in fact I can't stand the kid personality-wise, I want to see him get knocked out again, I still watch the Prescott-fight for fun every once in a while, but... credit where credit is due, yesterday he proved himself and showed his potential yet again.
Prior to the fight, I though he would do even better, not get hit as much and maybe even stop Maidana by TKO late in the fight. Now he did fade a bit towards the end of the bout and ate a lot of shots, but he did not resort to pure defense (yes he "ran", but what is running for some is ring generalship for others), fought back and prevailed in the end. And the first 3-4 rounds were absolutely impressive. Same as for how he survived the 10th round when the worst case scenario for Khan happened (overhand right from Maidana landing flush on Khan's chin).
I think the guy has all the tools to become a #1 P4P fighter in the future, and his chin is not an insurmounatble obstacle for him, although it is definitely a clear weakness.
He is in a very though division with Bradley, Ortiz and Alexander and some legends in adjacent weight classes (Marquez, Mayweather), but I really think he could hang in there with the best in the coming years and if he continues to improve and get smarter in the ring, he is still only 24 mind you.
