The punchstats in this fight are misleading. Khan was landing more because of his lighting fast flurries, but Maidana was landing the more meaningful blows.

I agreed with Jim Watts scorecard.

      115-110.

Was far enough. Amir Khan won round 11, too. Imo.

American judges favour the guy that goes forward. They are consistant in that.

10th was a 10-7 round for maidana. it actually shudve been stoped. khan went for about a minute gettin hit witout throwin a punch back. nobody lost in this fight in my eyes. just gon make both fighters better. khan wants it. he really impressed me wit the punishment he took n never gave up. Great fight. i wud give the nod to maidana just for the fact he was against 2 people in that ring. sorry khan fans admit it. it was 2 against 1.

          Such a ****** post.

Khan got beat within an inch of his life, yet he didn't give it 100%?

He was willingly get hit?? It appeared that he either ran away or held everytime he got hit.

It could be he was getting hit because Maidana was hitting him and Khan couldn't do anything to stop it.

Khan fought the fight of his life, don't pretend he could've made it easier, if he could've, he would have.

          Stop disrespecting Maidana you clown.

A lot of those flurries weren't hitting nothing. British pansies are sore that their prediction of an easy fight fell flat on its face.

Maidana would've knocked him out if not for that paid off ref Joe Khortez.

i dont get this, usually boxing fans cry around because the refs stop the most fights too early
the ref didnt do anything wrong, he gave khan a chance to survive and maidana a chance to win by an impressive knock out...
              right decision imo.

Clearly said he didn't give 100% in terms of avoiding punches, being cornered and troubled by Maidana. And he didn't per the brief of jabbing and not throwing a right til the 2nd half. He was exchanging, standing close, fighting in close and showing off at not being hurt. So he was no trying 100% to not get hit, now I think Freddie would agree, and even Khan admits he was hit by some silly shots. He chose to risk getting hit more, so evidently didn't give 100% to avoiding getting hit.

He could have made it easier but being on the run even more actually, as was proving to work and keep him out of trouble earlier on. But he clearly wanted to mix it up and get into exchanges to prove a point, which served to let Maidana more in the fight as-well. Without such he wouldn't have proven his point and been so impressive, but would have won clearer, jabbing and straight punching a wide decision ala Kotelnik.

I credit Maidana plenty and have done in many posts today. Absolute warrior, persistent, very powerful, heart, chin and power to no end. Credit to the sport.

To the contrary sir, I think your post about Cortez above is far more '******'.

You're right, Khan should've ran and held more than he did. In fact, they should've just chained Maidana in shackles and not allowed him to move at all.

Then it would've been 100% easy for Khan.

Too bad Khan actually had to fight though, it really puts a damper on the illusion that he was going to have an easy fight.

Not to mention how much help he received from the ref, the same ref that you complained about in the Hatton/Mayweather fight.

Its a little disappointing that Maidana was so close to getting that stoppage but couldn't. More surprising was that it ended up being pretty close going the distance when most ppl thought if it did it would be a near shut out and Maidana would get a boxing lesson which he didn't.
