    Fully agree.

Jeff wasn't just getting beaten up in there, he was being systematically broken down and dismantled, both physically and mentally. He was always gunshy afterwards but to be honest I'm not suprised in the slightest.

It was world class vs kindergarten class in the ring that night, shame on his corner for not doing something about it.

You want to say, "he should fight journeymen" but he did and got beaten anyways.

I want to say "he should become a journeyman", but it's becoming increasingly obvious that beating a post-Calzaghe Lacy actually means very little.

Lacy took a vicious beating from Calzaghe, Taylor(landed some bombs on Lacy), and Roy Jones Jr. just completely dominated him in similar fashion to the beat-down Calzaghe put on Lacy. Now Lacy loses to a journeyman fighter.

If Steve Smoger was ref last night, I think Maidana would have won by KO or dominate decision win.
Not sure I agree with your theory on Maidana possibly ruining Khan. I know you said "might" and am not here to argue semantics or anything. Just saying, it's not the sense I got. I thought Khan boxed smart (and yes, ran a bit too) down the stretch in realizing that Maidana wasn't going anywhere. But if anything, I think the fight makes him tougher.

Ruined - is Victor Ortiz, who threw away a win for fear of getting caught down the stretch against a modest puncher like Peterson.

I don't see Khan at that point yet.

Edit: whoa, how did we get in this thread? I thought your post was in the Khan-Maidana article thread.

                    As for Lacy...

Sad news to hear about an old friend. I hope he calls it a career. I've always been a fan of his, but he has nothing left to offer the sport as a fighter.

Also, everyone will be happy to know I edited the typo in the article, changing the year reference from 2008 to 2006.
