How would Ali have beat Vitali?

Notice the question how, not would... this is no wind-up thread, because I was trying to imagine today a fighter that could beat Vitali.

Lennox could, obviously... but of the current crop the size differential is just too great. Never mind how good Toney is, he'd be too small, wouldn't he?

So how would Ali have handled Vitali? Vit would only have 4" on him in height, and I think Ali's reach was longer, but Ali wasn't a hard puncher. He's not KNOWN for being a hard puncher. He's fought many men stronger than him. George Chuvalo, Floyd Patterson, Zora Foley...

Yeah, don't get me wrong, as I said, he would, the question is, how? And this is presuming everyone knows his rope-a-dope tactics and wouldn't be fooled by them any more.

Umm, very interesting. I do think however that it may not work.In this case he(Ali) will have to move away from Vit which is precisly what Vit needs. I think that boxing circles and punching from different angles is the best way to beat the Big Ukrainian.

ali has a solid chin ,he doesnt need to move for no one not even goerge foreman who was a far harder puncher than v klit. there are numerous ways for ali to beat v klit someone with good footwork and who knows how to use the ring stands a good chance at beating klit.danny williams footwork and balance was laughable in the last fight.

The speed differential would be incredible. Ali's jab and straight right are so much quicker then anything Vitali throws, not to mention the difference in footwork . . .it would be like the Ali-Terrell fight . . .
