**** it. I'm depressed. Vic's taken so much **** from this board but the guy is seriously one of the most underrated fighters of this era and a true warrior. I really hoped he would win this fight to end his career on. Looks like he should have won it from what many are saying but in these cases it always seems to go to the young guy with big money behind him.

Close, back and forth fight. Scores were wide both ways. I think the right man won the fight. The point deduction from Mares was BS.

Ortiz is so wide open to counter. If Peterson can keep catching him as he is now without getting caught again himself he could make this very close.

I don't see many saying he should have won. Mares controlled the fight from 5th round on (although i gave the 12th to Vic). Vic just doesn't do enough to win. He is exciting to watch but I dont think he is underrated by any stretch

Mares is a warrior, he took solid shots and kept moving foward.

ive never thought much of mares.....i like the dude, but he isnt physically gifted at all......big heart.....im honeslty surprised people think highly of his skills though.....he looked sloppy as hell...this was a great fight in the sense that it was grueling and intense...but if you really see the quality of punches, sometimes it felt pretty sloppy....
