Watching Marquez vs Katsidis and I have 1 question...

What is the deal with Katsidis' right hand? One of the strangest things I have ever seen. Almost crablike, and so amateur for a guy fighting for championships....

It's borderline (if not outright) illegal a lot of the time. The way he yanks it down, it often becomes a flush forearm to the face with some leather skinning on it. When he gets a full glove rake off it, it must be among the most annoying punches to take in the game (i.e. it might not KO you, but that has to burn).

Yeah, it got on my nerves too...

If it would have been a better thrown right hand, he might have had a better shot in the fight...It landed all night..

Man it was SO weird...almost looks like he was throwing elbows, but im sure it feels like a slap to Marquez, I don't think that could hurt any top 10 fighter in his division.

but I can't imagine it has any effect on his opponent. Perhaps it could cause a cut, but only on swollen tissue....

a good stoppage by Bayless, though. Katz was completely and totally done.

It would have been more effective in the old days with rougher gloves, seams, etc. I imagine the worst of it is rug burn after the fight.

agreed, it couldn't cause a cut but it could be irritating? Really though it is a terrible, terrible show of form...
