Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says that in fairness to Floyd Mayweather Jr “he was never on board” when the people who represented him were in talks with HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg.

Arum told us “what happened was these people that were talking with HBO, Mayweather was never on board. He never really wanted to do this fight (against Manny Pacquiao) this year if ever.”

Arum disclosed that promoter Don King called him and they spent the whole time laughing “because the thing is so preposterous and King said he didn’t know whether he would have him (Mayweather) or not.”
