Comments Thread For: Marquez Eyes Erik Morales in March, Plans Trip To Russia

WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, and trainer/manager Nacho Beristain, are taking a good look at a possible clash with countryman Erik Morales in March. Beristain says the fight with Morales is not a fantasy anymore. Depending on what happens with Morales' fight next Saturday against Jorge Barrios, Marquez could begin training camp at the end of January/early February.

Really??? That would be sad, Even though JMM is 37 he still active and still looks good, Morales has been in too many wars over the years, He's done..

        No sense in this fight.

And damn! Marquez really is desperate for a Pacquiao sweepstakes, even using a Russian training opportunity to build on that bliss that a trilogy is what people want.

Marquez in denial that everyone wants Floyd.

What he's gonna get is the russian fans telling him to fight one of their own, or prolly an eastern european.

marquez deserved to fight morales to prove who's who between these two fighters. morales is still popular in mexico than marquez...

morales more likely to dethrone the old-cry-baby boy marquez...

I like JMM. But why would Russians be intrested in seeing him? Their population is 99% Neo-**** ultra nationalists who hates foreigners.

Morales is way done. He's a shell of his former self.

                No sense in this fight.

Hmm... This fight is actually interesting. I'd want to see what both fighters can show us at this point in their careers.
