Looking at the total punches Maidana throws more and is more accurate than Khan, doesnt look right

Watching the fight and reading a stats table of a fight will have you thinking you they were two completely different fights.

Maidana is a puncher and will try to hit you anywhere on the body as long as it connects and by the look of the stats he throws a hell of a lot of punches but if you watch him fight then you can see how wild he really is.

I can almost bet you that if this fight goes the distance with Khan, then his connect ratio will drop by a significant margin relative to his earlier fights.

Maidana had a close fight with Kotelnik, hit and through a lot, but hit a lot of glove too, and got controlled.

Khan boxed Kotelnik and left no doubt in each round.

I agree with this. However Khan is a boxer and well outboxed Kotelnik ,Maidana is a fighter and put Kotelnik through a lot more pain and Kotelnik is very tough and can take a lot of damage. The line Khan beat Kotelnik easily and Kotelnik beat Maidana does not automatically mean that Khan has this in the bag.

Have you actually watched Maidanas fight with Kotelnik? He was not controlled, at all. He actually fought a ****y confident fight, and even was clowning around at points in the fight.

He also appeared to carry his power right up to the final bell, so this notion that his power starts to fade after 6, seems kind of irrational to me.

I think that assertion is based largely on his performance again Demarcus Corley. I have a sneaking su****ion that he may have taken Corley lightly, and not came into that fight in top condition.

I have a feeling that Maidana is going to play Ricardo Mayorga to Khans Vernon Forrest.
