Author is a jackass. If he is Filipino I am throwing all credibility out the window. I stopped at Roy Jones vs B Hopkins. Jones destroyed Hopkins beating him nearly every round, and had no reason to duck him.

Jones was so far above Hopkins, and could make more money fighting anybody. Hopkins would call Roy out for his belt, as Roy was the p4p #1 fighter in the world, and title holder. Jones offered Hopkins 40%. As Jones said "60/40 I whoop yo' ass."

The fact is that Hopkins never wanted any part of Jones and by asking for 50% priced HIMSELF out, not the other way around.

The thing I don't like about this fight is the fact that JMM hasn't proven he can compete higher than 135. Despite that, I think that JMM would beat Alexander easily and I'd even slightly favor him over Khan because of Amir's weak chin. I'd probably slightly favor Bradley over him and even that is iffy. But even if that is my opinion, JMM hasn't proven he can be competitive with an elite fighter outside of Lightweight. JMM should fight the Khan-Maidana winner and win a fourth title and that would give him huge leverage against Pacquaio. Even Arum himself said JMM should beat bigger guys to earn a shot at Manny and in a way I kind of agree. But it's still a coward move on Pacquiao's part to go after sorry ass Shane Mosley. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

40% vs Roy Jones would have been a career highest purse for Hopkins and in most cases, if Hopkins was taking 60% vs another fighter, it would not equal the 40% he would make with Jones.

Marquez hasnt done nothing to earn him bargaining power. A win over mediocre fighters doesn't earn him a say in negotiations. If he wants a bigger purse he needs make a name for himself at LWW or WW.

Pac is the bigger draw but as you can see from his fights with Marg and Clottey, he will need a bigger name to draw more ppv's. A fight with Marquez would sell the most aside from a bout with Floyd Mayweather. I think that Marquez deserves a 50% split, however, if I were Marquez I would be happy with 40 or 45%.
