He is not even rated in the top 10 in a weight-class on any respectable rankings
If Berto is protected, what is Chavez?

Not a top 10 a fighter in any weight-class not even close so not even worth talking about.

If Berto wasn't a World champion for 2 years(winning it against a Mexican cop) then there would be no issue here.

If JCC Jr would have won the WBC title against Matt Vanda then he would be in the same boat as Berto.

Ok, I agree, but I choose to with hold judgement on Dre until I see him get the chance to prove himself. Would would've thought your beloved Pacquiao would become the fighter he became? You never know.......

What about Pac? In 2001, at the age of 21 he was already a 2 division champion, and a lineal champion. He had already accomplished more than what Berto has so far. And, had a KO victory over Ledwaba which was a better win that Berto against Collazo. Considering it was decisive and that Pac did it on a 3 week notice and Ledwaba at worse was considered the 2nd best SBW at the time.

Who would've thought he would do that after being KO by two bums in Singsurat and Torrecampo, as a professional?

Why do you keep comparing apples and oranges?

Of course they can. However, Berto should not have been the champion if his thing was to be a prospect and progress and improve. Once you win that title he has to step up the level of comp. It has been 2 years now and almost half of his defenses has been against JWW's and he is talking about fighting another JWW next. No bueno...........

I mean after that. Berto was supposed to fight mosley instead of mora. Priced himself out and fought an absolute bum instead.

                      clottey, cotto, margacheato, mosley...

just solid WW's to see where he's at. Yes most of the guys i listed are at 154 but they can easily come down to 147. only reason they left is because their daddy Pac is at 147.
