the ginger kid is only a draw in mexico.

khan is not a fantastic draw in the U.S.

Arum and King actually know what their doing. All GBP and Dibella does is book fights for HBO.

Pacquiao-Mosley will do at least around 1.2 million buys, which by itself is more than three of GBPs four pay per view fights of 2010 combined. Hopkins-Jones II, Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz II and Shane Mosley-Sergio Mora did roughly 325,000 as a combined number.

This is pathetic. Alvarez and Khan are gonna bounce the second they can when they look at Top Rank and see the numbers there doing. Golden boy, Dibella and Shaw combined can't touch Top Rank.

Say Pacquiao-Mosley does 1.2 million. That means that Mayweather-Mosley, an all Golden Boy promotion would out sell it by 200k. Golden Boy owns Top Rank again.

The guy who wrote this article is an amateur who did NO RESEARCH. Golden Boy makes enough money from dozens of sponsorships, pay-per-view revenue and numerous television deals to stay in business without any problems. Television is what puts a company out of business. If Golden Boy lost HBO and Showtime, then they would be in trouble.

I think a few of you have made valid points. The truth for me lies in the entertainment value. I feel both Arrum and GB have put on some of the worst shows in recent history. I really believe it is all do to the 1.2 mil ppv sales and the huge fight contracts. In not so many words..fighting for the wrong reasons. Having said that I feel GB and Goosen put on the best two shows this year with Williams v Martinez/Marquez Katsidis. These were two great fights that entertained fans. One more for the shock value the other for gutsy boxing. Let not forget we watch boxing for the love of the sweet science not to glote in how much money our favorite boxing promoters are earning. But again on the topic of promoters you all have good points.

Sponsorship deals is only good if there are television dates in HBO, or Showtime.

Once GB's contract with HBO expires, then that means that they are now in equal playing field with the Duva's, DiBella, Shaw as far as getting TV time for their fighters. That means they have to compete with other promoter for TV dates...

That makes Top Rank different from other promoters because they can produce their own shows at their own PPV. They are not dependent to any network..

Selective memory is rampant around here, this post is just another example of it.

Why is he comparing future Pacquiao-Mosley #'s to those PPV's instead of Mayweather-Mosley and Mayweather-Marquez?

Now, compare the Marquez-Diaz II, Mosley-Mora, and Hopkins-Jones II #'s to the Latin Fury and Pinoy Power #'s (And Lopez, Donaire, Gamboa, Montiel, Chavez Jr., Soto, etc. have been on them). No contest.

If Golden Promotion quits in 2011,

                    then Top Rank will continue to Lord it over;

with the old man - Arum showing what experience is all about!

never mind his age, the old man got wisdom, and the current P4P

                    His cash cow - Pacman!

                      its about time...

Golden Boy produces lots of good scraps over the years... with great stable of young and upcoming talents... but Top Rank is producing events... hell, i would watch an event rather than a good scrap... make no mistake folks, Arum is been in the boxing promoting business since the 60's... call him an a$$, but he knows what the **** he is doing... pure evil genius ****...

                      Actual comparison for this year:

Williams-Martinez II (DiBella) = features 2 of the most-avoided fighters in williams and sergio in the most anticipated rematch of the year... the result? around 5,000 folks watch the fight on the venue...

Marquez-Katsidis (Golden Boy) = features master ring technician in marquez and an all-forward slugger in katsidis... the result? around 4900 folks packed the MGM...

Pacquiao-Margarito (Top Rank) = features the 7-division #1 pound for pound fighter and is gunning for his 8th division title against a controversial cheater/fighter in margarito.. the result? around 41,000 folks trooped the cowboy's stadium... with a Nelly mini-concert thrown in the mix... i prefer metallica doing a justice medley, but come on, who does that in a boxing match?... its more than a boxing match, its a f*n event...

the hell with the controversies surrounding each fighter, a sell is a sell... and folks, Arum knows how to sell...
