i think he is. this fight is utterly important to him. if he cant weather this storm he wont be able to be a big factor in boxing imo. he HAS to get this victory

No, I don't think so. If Maidana loses he becomes a gate-keeper stereotype.

Journeyman are guys who has as much losses as wins and just travels around from place to place to get beaten up by young hyped up prospects. That's the very defenition of a journeyman as far as I'm concerned. So no, Khan won't be a journeyman if he loses. His career will be in shatters and he will have to start from square one but he ain't gonna be a journeyman.

This will be only the 2nd loss on one of these fighters record unless the fight ends up in a draw. Is that really journeyman status?

Win or lose , Khan is still a great skilled boxer.

I wouldn't say journeyman, just a couple of echelons below elite. I consider a journeyman to be someone that's always around but never really achieves anything big and just seems to be there to be a step-up win for a prospect.

Khan's already got some decent names on his resume and he can box albeit with the question mark over his chin. I think if he loses (which I can't see him doing), he'll be around PWill's status level (ie not close to elite but still a tough opponent for most very solid boxers).

No, he'll be what people think of him now, an extremely talented fighter with a weak chin. He'll still be able to have a good career and beat some good fighters.
