tyson may not have had the best of wins in his career and a troubled past and troubled out of the ring times....but that guy at the beginning was a serious arsehole.....he sounded just like Poet682006 (not saying poets an arse or a ****) and he was incredibley biased as well...lol the whole he beat larry holmes when he was old....right the same larry who went 12 rounds with holyfield after he fought tyson....the same old larry who beat an undefeated ray mercer after the tyson fight.....

and the spinks thing might have been true but he did what no other HW could do to holmes...he dethroned him and tyson opened him up easily...

trevor berbick might have been past it but to beat him the way he did at 20 years was great...

donovan ruddock was ducked by guys like holyfield/foreman and various others and when he was on top of his game and no one wanted him mike beat the living crap out of him...

frank bruno yes he might have been seen as a bum but he also beat oliver mccall and won the WBC HW Title..

so no tyson may have been overrated and legacy wins wise not so great but no one can just win the HW Championship Twice now can they especially at 20 years and then again after serving three years in prison? the holyfield/douglas/lewis fights might have shown tysons vulnerability fair enough for the douglas fight there were a few excuses...none for the holyfield fight...lewis fight was the same both fighters were past prime..

early fights were against bums but who does not fight bums in the beginning of their career??

aside from this Tyson does belong in the Hall Of fame despite that prick at the beginning...

end off and **** skip bayless..

They acted like he never ever beat anyone of note or prime.

Although it is true that he has no great wins over great fighters near their prime, he has many quality wins over solid fighters and former champions.

Random points in Tyson's favor :

        - he is an icon, a legend forever in the sport
        - youngest HW champ ever
        - unified all 3 titles
        - destroyed most people he faced in his prime (not beat, destroyed)
        - 9 defenses
        - lineal champion

Tyson may not have a HOFer resume, but he had so much impact on the sport that his icon status coupled to his borderline resume gives him a pass in my book. I would compare his record to the one of Wlad K. actually. Solid resume, no great wins. Don't you think Wlad will deserve to enter to HOF one day ?

        Thoughts ?

I wonder if they are ripping Rambo's induction?

Nearly every notable heavyweight ever has been inducted to the IBHOF so I don't see why Tyson should be an exception.

Jack Sharkey, Max Schmeling, Harry Wills, Peter Jackson, Sam McVea, Joe Jeannette, Jim Corbett, Jess Willard even.

If Ken Norton is in there, Tyson has a good argument to be in there...Spinks was a career light heavyweight but was undefeated when Mike KOed him....in the first round

Frank Bruno and Tony Tucker are not a bad names...

                    Norton beat Ali and......Jerry Quarry?
