He has a long, long way to go. Hopefully it starts next year.

He definitely has the potential. He is the skills and he has the build to be able to climb weight classes easily.

With a bit of luck and good match making, I see him becoming a 5 division champion...or even 6...peaking at 130 lbs.

Well hes rated as no4 now, so in a year or two when everyone above him has retired, he would be no1 by default if he continues as he is. Does being no1 p4p make you great?

EDIT: I forgot Martinez jumped him, hes also not even in the top 40 on Boxrec

His #4 ranking is the worst I've ever seen in the Ring.

With Victor Conte's help he can be top 5 for years to come but his lower weight class and his inability to fight the top guys constantly isn't helping his cause but beating Montiel definately changes that.

Well outside of Manny, Floyd, Martinez and possibly still Marquez, you could make a case for loads fighter after that. I have no real problem with his position as there is no one really shining. However whoever wins out of him and Montiel can fully claim and cement their place.
