Adam Booth, trainer, manager and confidant of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye says that Wladimir Klitschko's withdrawal from a fight with Dereck Chisora will not affect the Hayemaker's plans in the slightest.
"We've got our own plan and schedule to work to," Booth told BoxRec News. "This won't make a fight between Wladimir and David happen any more quickly. If anything, it might delay things if he's badly injured.
"David is certainly not stepping in to fill any kind of gap."
After Haye blew away Audley Harrison last month, Team Klitschko's representative Bernd Boente was very vocal in his pleas to get Haye and Booth to the negotiating table.
"You know what? After all the chat and things flying around on the periphery about us not wanting to do the fight, not one person from the Klitschkos' team phoned me up, even though they know it's me who looks after David's career. Not one.
"I've invited Bernd to contact me after 12th December so maybe something will happen from their side then."
Wladimir withdrew from his fight with Chisora yesterday citing a back injury - exactly the same reason given by Haye for his withdrawal from a proposed fight with his brother Vitali.
"I hope the irony of this situation isn't lost on Vitali - back injuries do happen."
Booth is still committed to fighting one of the Klitschkos next year though.
"Haye versus a Klitschko is the only big fight in the heavyweight division for the foreseeable future. Imagine if the brothers and David retired. What would the heavyweight division be left with then?"
