The Big Question For Amir... Is He Tough?

Will he be ready when Maidana welcomes him to the jungle?

He was brought up as an English suburban kid with well-schooled boxing abilities..........okay. We all know that is not the best environment for nurturing toughness. I have never seen him in trouble and came back in a back and forth fight. what happens when **** hits the fan and the other guy just won't go away?

Maidana grew up on a farm and fought 3rd world assailants growing up. You can tell by the scars on the back of his head that he's caught a couple of crowbars growing up.

He has proven that he can dig deep and win a dirty, gritty fight.

Has Khan shown this kind of toughness? This should waver your perspective on the fight. Beccause it will come down to heart. If you think Amir is just going to run around shooting jabs and run away with a UD. You have another thing coming. Maidana is going to make it gritty and dirty.

    Amir Khan definetely has heart.

Look at him trying to get up from the 2nd Prescott Knockdown, look at him getting up to beat Limond and Gomez. Look at him relocating to America to pursue his dream when everyone had written him off as: 'too chinny to do anything.'

That said if Maidana lands a big one, Khan won't be able to dig deep - his brain won't recover in time and his body will betray him.

Khan took some power punches sparring with Pacquiao... I think he got good chin and very tough.

who has he fought since Prescott?

        salita. kotelnik. pauli malignaggi.

all pillow fisted. that is cherry picking at its finest. this is going to blow up in Amir's face. Really. He's deluded at this point.

that first thudding shot Maidana lands on Amir's guard is going to rattle his brain.

Then Maidana will welcome Amir to the jungle

I wouldn't say Kotelnik is pillow-fisted. He hits harder than his record suggests. He just has that high-held guard and low-punch output. I think he came fairly close to getting Devon Alexander out of there.

That said you're basically right. This is the acid test.

The kid has heart and determination; physically he's about as weak as they come, and mentally ... i'll go ahead and say he's massively ******ed. It's a wonder he even manages to breathe.
