Comments Thread For: Video: Marcos Maidana Interview, Training Footage
Ryan Burton was on the scene as interim-champion Marcos Maidana spoke about his upcoming title challenge against WBA 140-pound champion Amir Khan in Las Vegas.
I like the head-movement, but this video is bad showing the public it because now Roach sees how much better Maidana appears to be. I don't get why boxers show there training videos, it gives there opponents trainers time to exploit new weaknesses they see in the video.

c'mon man.
maidana was basically hitting the pads with his head up the entire time. every now and then he'd bob and weave, but for the most part his head is there to be countered and potshotted especially how he was following his trainer around the ring.
the worst part is that sometimes his trainer flicks that jab in maidana's face and there is no reaction from him. he doesn't even blink!!!!
maidana is gonna get jabbed to death nasty style. khan's jab is very long. based on what I saw, I don't think maidana has trained to get past that jab. khan's jab will control the fight. maidana will be lucky to land the KO punch imho.

Well, they've stopped training now so posting videos is harmless. Or, could be used to strike fear into an opponent who thought they had something covered only to find their opponent knows how to negate it already.

I thought I saw something good from Maidana, he looked to fight in angles aswell and not just moved his head at times but also moved his body. It makes me think he is also trying to get Khan to miss him aswell. I'm still picking Khan to win, but I think Maidana is more talented than people give credit. But than again I said the same thing about Abraham and look what happen in his last 2 fights.

You seem to be one of those who get caught up in the hype. Even Ricky Hatton looked great when he was hitting the pads and Maidana is not going to alter his style at this stage in his career.
And please tell me after how many fights did it take you to judge Arthur Abraham's boxing ability?

What, everyone on this website for the most part was on the AA train when he was beating fighters like Miranda and Taylor. There were the few that pointed out that those two fighters were way past there best, but most gave AA alot of credit for those wins.
So, now everyone one here is going to pretend they were part of the train " I knew AA wasn't that good to begin with". Funny how things change, if I remember correctly AA had the hype about him as the same as Jeff Lacy did. Where most users picked him to crush Calzaghe but very few picked Calz to win.
