I don't think he is wimping out at all. He reported this so called "assault" for the pure intent of suing Floyd later and cashing in. He certainly was not injured, but it will not stop him from pretending to be.

That is exactly what it is, a scam. Now he will get some shady lawyer, file a lawsuit and basically get a decent amount of settlement money because Floyd's lawyers will never allow this to go to a jury. No Jury will have any sympathy for Floyd and Floyd's legal team knows that.
