    BoxingScene.com was advised by promoter Lou DiBella that a potential fight between Sergio Martinez and Miguel Cotto is no longer being discussed after a financial dispute with Cotto's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank. The fight was being negotiated for a pay-per-view showdown in March. Martinez would have dropped down to a catch-weight of 155-pounds and placed his WBC middleweight title on the line. Cotto is the WBA's champion at 154-pounds.

      Is he crazy. This fight is big. Regardless of what ppl think asbout Cotto not having a chance. If he puts hald a decent undercard this will sell.

      Martinez -Cotto alone will do some decent numbers. Cotto sells.

      I guess Margarito-Cotto will sell too.

                      Arum is like acid. He dissolves all good fights. As much of a mismatch as people may claim, this fight has the ingredients for being a good one. If Cotto wins, he instantly makes himself relevant again. If he gets blown out, everyone will say that it was a mismatch and not credit Martinez. If Cotto loses after putting up a real good effort, he still gets his name flung around for other good fights.
