1 title 1 champion per division. you cant be a champion or the best unless you beat the champion. snatching up vacent belts or paper titles wont exsist. 1 champion defends against the number 1 contender and everyone else fights to earn a shot. if you dont want to fight the best you get fired or you just never become reconized champion so people wont care about you
If you had the authority what would you change about boxing?

One governing body for the world that would be in charge of fighter safety, scoring, and refereeing. This organization would be big enough that fighting under it would benefit fighters and fans, but small enough that it would not be a monopoly and allow fighters and fans to determine if it was worthy of being in charge of 3 major aspects of the sport.
The goals of this organization would be to protect fighters from serious injury, create competitive and intriguing fights, bring the sport back into the mainstream, and to have the best scoring. It would help retired boxers with health care and basic life support, and provide insurance and essentials for amateurs.
It would have only 1 world champion for each weight class also.
It's sort of vague, but I think it would flip boxing upside down in a very positive way.Comment

Very good responses I agree with practically all of you. The best need to fight the best and these sanctioning bodies and promoters need to get out of the way. Boxing needs to be shown on regular television as well, this will lead to much more exposure. I still remember watching Prince Naseem Hamed fight on channel 7.Comment
