You have to take into account that Maidana is NOT this 1 punch KO artist that everyone is talkin. Hardest puncher in the division yes but not 1 punch ko guy. Also something to ponder is that Khan has definately had the wet paper bag chin at 135 in the amateurs and pros but lets use Miguel Cotto as an example. His chin wasnt good at all at 140 but once he moved up to 147, his chin became above average. Dehydration cause some fighters to be chinny.

Now I aint necessarily saying Khan will improve like Cotto cause his bad chin could be a permanent thing lol. Just wanted to give you another view at this.

There are a lot of people that seem to think Khan is such a good boxer he won't get hit and will make Maidana look silly. But Khan is not a great defensive boxer. His hand speed flatters his boxing skills. At some point in this fight Maidana is going to land and all the speculation about his chin will ne answered.

We already know his chin sucks tho, Prescott and when he was in the amateur he got hurt with headgear on. He was even put down on his ass several times in the pro from fighters who aren't known to be power punchers.

1 shot KO power is not necessarily more powerful than someone with thudding KO power.



It's the difference between speed and timing. You have guys like Vlad who has 1 shot KO power. He probably has more 1 shot KO's than Earnie Shavers and George Foreman. but is he ranked above either in all time puncher's list?


Shavers and Foreman are slower.... they don't necessarily knock u cold with 1 shot..... but their power is evident. As Chuvalo recalled, Foreman hits like a mac truck travelling at 40 miles/hr. Frazier hits like a pontiac going at 100/hr. But Foreman still hit harder.



There are 1 shot KO artists out there now like Abraham..... but they are actually not as effective as a Maidana because Maidana breaks a fighter down because of aggression, activity + power.

That is why he has a much better shot than just a head hunting 1 punch KO artist.

Khan's chin will get tested against better fighters like Bradley (eventhough he lacks pop), Berto, Pac, Cotto, other WW's.
