Lol at you comparing Ortiz Power to Bradleys. Do me a favor and see what type of punches Ortiz dropped Maidana with? INSIDE punches and guess where Lamont likes to fight? On the inside. If Lamont wants to win he better box and not pressure as if he is a power puncher which he is not.Comment

Cmon folks Ortiz is another HBO's hypejob just like Berto, P. Williams, and Gamboa. Ortiz isnt an elite boxer and Peterson stood 12 full rounds with the best american boxer of today, Peterson should win this clearly by a wide margin no doubtComment

No, Peterson got his ass handed to him by the best American boxer of today in sparring.Comment

Y'all are gonna be surprised when Ortiz destroys Peterson...Bradley and Alexander are the paper weight champs in that division...Ortiz' only loss was to hard hitting Maidana in a brawl which Ortiz was winning until he quit...Bradley, Alexander, or Khan have not been put in that kind of position and they all hit much lighter than Ortiz...Ortiz has decent skills, above average speed that can almsot match Khan's, and I think his power is larger than Maidana's for the simple fact that Ortiz throws his punches short and doesn't lunge in to force power...and he dropped Maidana 3 times!...Ortiz has good head movement and his foot work is good to...Peterson comes forward like he's a heavy puncher and he will try to do that With Ortiz but will miss...he was wobbled by Bradley so when Ortiz wobbles Peterson I expect him to go for the kill...I don't buy into the Bradley or Alexander hype...Bradley is not the best 140 pounder...Alexander is only a bit better than Peterson, and Khan could make it far enough to match Ortiz if his chin has truely improved which it probably hasn't...so truely I see the end of this 140 pound unification concluding with Ortiz vs Maidana part 2 at the end of all this...or it will be Khan vs Ortiz at the end but I don't see Khan beating Maidana...Comment

One correction, Ortiz is higher than Bradley in height, but Bradley is clearly stronger Probably the strongest of the top jrwws because hes truthfully a naturAL at 147...I feel like everyone is sleeping on this fight. This is a big fight for BOTH guys.
How do you guys see this fight going?
Does Victor still have the "Vicious" in him? Can Lamont Peterson subdue Ortiz by heavy pressure? Has Lamont seen too much of a beating fighting Bradley?
Both guys are coming off wins and about to send one or the other back in the rankings. LETS GET IT ON
I like this fight and can see it going either way. I was not that impressed by Ortiz in his fight against Campbell BUT it looks like Ortiz might have loosened up against Vivian Harris as we can see
And I cant find Petersons KO of Damian Fuller but here are highlights from Bradley Peterson
By Dan Ambrose: Number #1 ranked WBA/WBO light welterweight contender Victor Ortiz (28-2-1, 22 KO’s) has an important fight this Saturday night on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs. Marcos Maidana clash at the Mandalay Bay Resort & casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ortiz, still only 23, has won four straight fights since being stopped by Maidana last year in June and is looking to get a win over Lamont Peterson (28-1, 14 KO’s) to keep in line for a shot against either the Khan-Maidana winner or the Timothy Bradley vs. Devon Alexander winner in January.
The southpaw Ortiz has big power and will have the speed and power advantage over the 26-year-old Peterson on Saturday. However, Ortiz is going to need to be prepared for a tough fight because Peterson won’t just fold and give up if Ortiz starts off well. Peterson stuck around for the full 12 rounds in a lopsided 12 round decision loss to Bradley last year in December. While Peterson continued to get dominated even into the later rounds of the fight, he never stopped coming forward and trying to make a fight of it with Bradley.
But unfortunately for Peterson, he didn’t have the boxing skills or the power needed to beat Bradley. He’ll likely have even more problems against Ortiz because he’s both bigger and stronger than Bradley and he’s a very good boxer as well. Peterson is going to be getting hit really hard in this fight and from an opposite angle that he’s used to getting hit. Ortiz has knockout power in both hands, as he showed in his last fight, a 3rd round blowout win over former World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight champion Vivian Harris on September 18th.
Just added more info to this thread to peak more interest.
