I really do think Ricky Hatton could operate the top level

I don't particularly like the guy, and his style does nothing for me at all - I prefer artists to ****ers - and I'm not saying he could be Kosta. But after his last two matches I really do think Ricky could operate at the very top level of his division.

oh I absolutely agree with you. as an English mancunian, ive always been a big fan of his, but in saturday's fight he seemed to be on a higher level. he had apoint to prove because his last few fights had been quite poor.

but now its time for him to step up and get a big fight. maybe tszyu maybe cotto. after saturday i think he would have a chance, especially against cotto. i think his intensity would be too much for cotto if he could survive the body shots.

I just watched his fight with Oliveira and its hard to see how anyone could dominate a guy anyomore than what Ricky did. But still he desperately needs to get a major fight under his belt, if he gets Tszyu next it would be like going from the outhouse to the penthouse. Hatton has obvious skills and could very well spring the upset, but it is still yet to be seen if he can in fact compete at the highest level.

I'd just like to see him do the arthouse... did you see all that illegal holding he did?

Still, if he's not the best at his weight, I'd definitely say top five.

I think he is at the top level now! He has proved his heart, chin, speed and power. Now he has to prove how welll those tools work against equal peers. He needs to show that he can rise above the rest and take the division. Personally, I don't think he can beat Kostya but Cotto on the other hand is an equal fight right now. I think Ricky could be Cotto's proving ground or vica-versa. Frank Warren seems to be the only obstacle stopping Ricky from getting to the top.
