lol idiot...there are thousand ways to understate profits. purses are guaranteed by hbo so in essence it's not an expense by the promoter. the promoter's accounting starts after the gauranteed purses by the fighters, hbo and cable company's percentage share. any excess revenues will be the share of the promoter less the promotional expenses before you could come up with promotional profits. if the fighters are entitled to share on the excess on top of the guarantee then that could be considered cost to the promoter.

Brick Wall, My Dude. Manny Pacquiao is a PPV fighter. When is the last non-PPV fight Manny has had? HBO does not guarantee squat. The promoter bears the risk. Even in non-ppv fights, HBO does not guarantee purses. They merely pay a licensing fee to the promoter, who in turn determines /negotiates purse with the fighter.

I don't mind if you don't know something. we all have to learn at some point. But to be SO WRONG while calling somebody else an idiot says a lot about you.

I dont see the problem, he got like 7.5m guarantee and like 10m in ppv bonus? so in the end he made about 15-17m which is what we knew all along

the only issue seems to be is people nit picking in how the perfcentage of his purse he earns in terms of ppv related and guarantee related

The issue is a matter of who bears the risk: the promoter, or the fighter.

For example, Shane got a $6.8 million guarantee for his fight with Mayweather. I am saying that it is wrong that Shane should be G'd up for as much as Manny.

Think about YOUR job. Don't you want to maximize how much you are assured of making? Because, the reality is, some things are out of your control.

Floyd was guaranteed $22 million for a fight that sold 1.4 million buys.
Manny was guaranteed 7.5 million for a fight that sold 1.2 million buys.

Whats funny is that Floyd has always longed for the "Respect" from the media and sponsors that Manny is enjoying right now. Hey, money can't buy you everything.
