i will go a step further where you finished and even say if you asked a wide enough population more will probably have heard of Haye then the Klitschkos...the fact the brothers are near identical to look at i think has been a PR disaster when trying to market a klitschko, yet haye has the typical HW look from years ago. black, well built, a mouth like a sespit and a record of knockouts all over youtube to be viewed.......Wlad saying "pizza face" and "chicken" are hardly going to get journalists excited and want to write his story...so i just dont see the damage Haye is doing if i look at it objectively and away from the pressure-cooker that is online forums & being up to date on everything.

Haye is not well known outside of the UK.

The Klitschkos are famous world-wide. Vitali's fight with Arreola in 2009 was the highest-rated fight that year on HBO -- America knows who the Klitschkos are. The fact that many of the old-guard boxing media like Burt Sugar don't like them is another issue.

In my area of Brooklyn, they are probably the most well-known fighters outside of maybe Tomasz Adamek.

Haye is mostly known outside of the UK in relation to the Klitschkos.

As for Wlad getting people excited, I suppose if he got busted for smoking crack and carrying a gun, that might get some dumb****s in the press and the public excited, but that is a sad statement on our society, not on Wlad, who is a classy and intelligent man.

This coming Saturday, IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his titles against Dereck Chisora in Germany. The next move for Klitschko, if everything falls into place, is a unification with WBA champion David Haye. Yeah, people in the U.S. might not even know the Klitschko's names, but they know who they are. I mean, I talk to less-than-casual boxing fans, you know the guys who say they were huge fans back in the good old days like when Tyson was fighting Rid**** Bowe or when Sugar Ray Robinson took on Marvin Hagler, but now watch MMA since Floyd Mayfeather refuses to fight Manny Pacman, and all the good heavyweights are playing basketball etc..But they know who the Klitschko's are, like they know 2 "Russian" brothers who are "7 foot tall" run the HW division.

i concede you guys probably are correct, people will know them as the 2 big brothers but probably get muddled up exactly who is who.
the reason i think haye is probably better recognised is his ability to capture the press for headlines is a bit like jose mourinho in the football world and as he's been riding the press using the klitschko name and they have been doing the same with him i thought he would probably be the better known of the 3 from an individual stand point...but you are probably right, most people will know of the klitschkos as the 2 big brothers without much more detail

i think wlad got confused and talked about himself in a corner,banned from the biggest U.S network and finding himself only getting on uk tv by squeezing into a multi fight ppv vs a novice that is even less known than himself!.

if the klitschkos contracts were so fair,and they had nothing to hide,then why not release the points in the contracts that were fair and expose haye instead of justing relying only on thier word ?

Haye signed a contract to fight Wlad and then backed out with a very dubious and never medically authenticated "injury."

He then agreed in principle to fight Vitali and backed out when the contracts were ready to be signed.

Since then, he has made demands, and then when they are met (like 50-50), he makes new demands (TV rights).

I think it's pretty clear what the reason is the fight(s) haven't happened.

happy to be the lone rider on boxing scene as i still think Haye and Wlad will fight. i think Haye has played massive games with the Klitschkos and i agree he's looked foolish at times and cowardly, but i dont think Haye is scared of Wlad, i really dont and when the fight comes, i'll stick money or points on Haye vs Wlad, but i'll have nothing to do with Haye vs Vitali as that is one fight i think is happy to avoid as that route i believe he gets beaten badly all day long.

the problem being on pulse of the industry is you want all the answers now....when in reality its usually a medium to long term game like most business deals and being away from all the drama makes something appear quicker then when you are wrestling through the "he said, she said" malarky
