Comments Thread For: Maidana: "When I Land on Amir Khan, The Fight is Over!"

WBA interim-junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana is confident in his abilities to end the fight with Amir Khan by knockout. Maidana will challenge Khan for his WBA 140-pound title on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Lately Khan has discussed his desire to stay in front of Maidana and engage him in a toe to toe battle. The puncher from Argentina is hoping the British boxer makes good on his promise to engage.

You mean if you land on him, which you won't.

Tell me this Maidana, who are you sparring with that can box like Khan? If you sparred with Alexander I'd pick you to win this fight but your sparring partners probably are all crap. Khan spars with a better fighter than Maidana named Manny Pacquiao.

I hope maidana is not relying on this, because it has been the demise of many a fighter. He has said it in every interview, he should be concentrating on breaking khan down, and if the ko presents itself then fair enough. Maybe that is his strategy, for his sake I hope so. He might get a shock though if he lands something decent and khan is still there. I think there is a chance he is underestimating khan's improving power, malignaggi is a tough 140 pounder and kotelnik is ridiculously durable, I don't think maidana can absorb the kind of punishment those guys can, and did against khan.

This is why I think Khan might get the early stoppage. Maidana is going to be swinging for the fences. he knows if he lands anything solid he wins the fight. Khan is going to come straight up the middle - boom.

Maybe his ****ty chin is an advantage?

Normally I have a bad feeling about Khan's fights, not this one. So, that means Khan's gonna lose.
