This would be fantastic. Many fans feel the RING belt is the true, legit title. I know Jr. Lightweight is considered one of the least deep divisions, but this still would be a great fight to see.

Hard to say the odds of this fight coming together. Fana and other S. African fighters are known to keep the IBF title local and fight in-house fighters (same thing Top Rank does). Fana did fight Marco Antonio Barrera, but that was before he had a belt and might have been to get his chance.

Also would be interesting where the fight would be. Fana rarely fights out of S. Africa. The two times he did fight away from home, he lost (the Barrera fight and against Dean Pithie in the UK). I assume more money is available in Scotland, but he may need to go to S. Africa to convince Fana to take the fight.

Anyways, love to hear Burns speak highly of the RING belt and hope this fight gets made.

It's not a deep division now, but when Juanma and Gamboa eventually move up...

Super featherweight is one of the deepest and most interesting divisions in boxing, with a lot of very good but underrated fighters like Fana, Salgado, Ao, Uchiyama and Burns.

People think boxers like Gamboa are better just because they're hyped by HBO.

I never would have thought Burns would be a world champion - but he is. He could become a good world champion as well.

he could do it but his Jab is so weak, he is pretty big and tall for the division yet uses a very weak and poor jab, it surprised me in his last fight, even though he won it easy. the training was poor by his coach

I love seeing things like this - with all the proliferation of titles, "super" champs, "silver" champs, champs in recess, regaular, interim, diamond, emeritus, etc. The Ring championship is the only true championship which legitimately shows the lineage and who the best fighter is. W. Klitchko, Pascal, Martinez, Marquez, Wonjongkam, and Segura are obviously the top dogs at hvywt, 175, 160, 135, 112 and 108.
I'd love to see fights like Cunningham v. Huck, Gamboa v. Lopez and the Montiel-Donaire winner v. winner of bantamweight tourney to crown more ring champs. It's already planned by Showtime that Bute is fighting the winner of the super 6 which will crown another champ. Does anyone know if Bradley v. Alexander is for the Ring title, considering it's a #1 v. #3, which sometimes can be for their championship.

I like Ricky's drive and motivation.

He is more of a man than coward Juanma. Ricky is willing to go after the other champions and be recognised as the best in the division.

                Hope the best for him.

Maricon can burn in a pit of fire.

Good match if it happens. It will take a ton of money to get Fana out of S. Africa. But Burns isn't much of a puncher and Fana might be tempted if the $$$ is right, especially since he's getting up there in age (37) and will eventually lose to another designated IBF-mandated S. African replacement. Would rather see Fana try to handle Uchiyama, whom IMO is this weak division's best, but Burns will be interesting too

I think Uchiyama has what it takes to be the best in the division, though Solis will be his toughest test as a champion.
