Good Call. Never thought about it but you are right. Nobody outside of GBP is going to give this guy a fight until he starts making weight consistently.

Guzman has a small following in the UK because of his trainer I believe...I can see Khan-Guzman in the UK and Guzman giving in to all of Khan/Roach's demand on weight, ring size, gloves, ref, judges, and venue. Oh and severe financial penalties for not making the contract weight. Sort of the way GBP did Malignaggi wrong when he first fought "Baby Bull" Diaz.

they probably want guzman to give khan a look at how wifebeater fights.

guzman is a waste of potential.

guzaman is too wild and marquez will pick him apart and break him down just like he did katsidis if not faster.. id like to see guzman fight brandon rios.. that would be an exciting match up.

you know not how boxing works.

Katsidis is a come forward fighter.

Guzman is a slick, make you miss, defensive, fast as fuck fighter.

If Guzman loses to Marquez it's because he's getting older.

Rios would get picked apart by Guzman, that would be a joke of a fight tbh. If Humberto Soto got made to look like an amateur Rios would look like a damn fool.

But ever since moving up to 135. he has shooting himself in the foot by not making weight
Guzman in those weigth can beat anybody, but i prefer hin on 122 and 126... that guzman could ridicule any of the best contemporary (Pacquiao, Marquez, Barrera, etc.), even could beat them by brutal KO. But none of them gave him a chance because his handlers knew that his fighters had no weapons to confront that Guzman, who in addition to their extraordinary speed, movements and intelligence, hit like a mule in those weights.

On 130-135, Guzman lose his power punch, and become even more technical figther but also more vulnerable. Now, on 140 he look very well... agains Funeka (144) he was fast, but more important is that we see him Stronger than 130 and 135. So exist possibility that at this weight he could make his reborn....

Guzman at his prime would be a very big "NO WAY" for King Khan... Now on 140, is a very hard prediction.... but, as seen in his second fight against Funeka, who is much taller than Khan, I think he would have clear opportunities if it can override the speed of Khan Jab, which we know is not the best but Roarch could prepare for that fight.

it really could be his reborn lee beard told me guzman wont have to worry about weight if he stays in the gym (which he is) and then they just have to work on technical things for the funeka fight he was working with guzman on his power punch and teaching him to punch with the knuckle part of the glove i think guzman will be resuurected.. he one of those cases where fighter moves up and moves up well..because hes always fought on fight night around 146-149 in his past 8 or so fights.difference now is he no longer has to dehydrate himself as much as before because the weigh in weight is 140..

To JMM, Guzman act different from that faced by Soto or Funeka1-2, I assure you it would seem more to Floyd, when he faced Marquez, allowing the Mexican to take the initiative but with the difference that Guzman would use his superior footwork to escape and attack more quickly than it could do Floyd. While Floyd beat Marquez on counter hit, Guzman can not so, but try to do it using their greater speed for in and out, all the time, and stand very little ... Marquez does not like fighters fleeing because he has no foot speed to find them and so we never see that fight.

I believe with a good preparation in 140, Guzman can beat anyone ... In Guzman VS Funeka 2, he weighed 144, but it was very fast and also some power (some will say that the weight difference, I think not)
