    Earlier today at the Global Boxing Gym in North Bergen, NJ, Tomasz Adamek (42-1, 27KO's) and Vinny Maddalone (33-6, 24KO's) met face to face for the final press conference before their upcoming heavyweight title fight this Thursday at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Adamek-Maddalone is promoted by Main Events and Ziggy Promotions, in association with Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing. At stake will be Adamek's IBF International and WBO NABO Heavyweight Titles.

      I would say that David Haye is fighting better heavyweight bums than Adamek is.

              It's almost impossible to be worse than Audley Harrison ... presumably Maddalone will throw punches.

                  I don't know. Looking at Maddalone's resume, he hasn't beaten one fighter that I even remotely recognize. I don't understand why Adamek went from fighting Arreola to Michael Grant and Vinny Maddalone.

                    Grant was to see how he did against a much bigger, Klitschko-sized opponent. And he got pretty ****** up by the end of that one, barely holding on for the win.

                    Maddalone is a confidence-builder, I would think -- or they hope so, anyway.

                    Big week for heavyweights: Oliver McCall vs Fres Oquendo Tuesday, Adamek-Maddalone on Thursday, Wlad-Chisora on Saturday.
